That Voice

Everyone has one (or several). Did you know that even the politicians, the sports people, the actresses and actors, the prisoners, the blue collar workers, the cooks, cleaners and candlestick makers all have an inner voice?

An inner voice is our thoughts and emotions internally (occasionally externally) voiced in our heads. Often it is how we run our daily lives. You would’ve heard ‘that voice’ many many times. Used well, this voice can serve you well. However often we can feel as if the voice is straight talking, negative, picky and mean!

The best way to develop the best in someone is by appreciation and encouragement.
— Charles Schwab

When the voice is mean – what have you done about it?

  • Ignored it?

  • Believed it?

  • Exercised, eaten lots of food, watched t.v. etc to numb or distract?

  • Taken out your frustration and anger on those you love?

When the voice is happy, carefree, confident and strong – have you noticed?

Charles Schwab, a highly successful investor, financial executive, and philanthropist who suggested “the way to develop the best in a person is by appreciation and encouragement”.

Imagine the effects on your life if you could increase your control over the internal voice and consciously choose to have a happy, carefree, confident and strong voice.
